how to add customization spec through vrealize CloudClient commandlets

am working on automation of blueprint creation in vrealize automation through cloudclient.

i have instaled cloudclient, and logging to vra through commandlets. and then export the blueprint into json format and later using that json for creating the new blueprints.

i am able to create blueprint through json file, but i have some concern regarding below points:

  • publish blueprints.
  • adding customization spec.

how to add customization spec and publish options for blueprints creation in vRA.

can anyone has idea about that. please help

I am learning Vrealize and does anyone have end to end flow document of any sample blueprint deployment e.g. If I am creating a vspphere machine using VRO endpoint, how does VRA parase the blueprint and call the vrO workflow or pluginns etc.

Delete disk API

I am trying to delete an existing hard disk of a VM as Day 2 operation through API but couldn't find a way to do it.

 

I can increase the existing disk capacity, added new disk to a VM through API but not sure what is the API request for deleting a hard disk.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Assign vRO Workflow to Blueprint

I had a question about assigning vRO Workflows to blueprints. I followed this link to associate a workflow to my blueprint. Specifically, on step 2 where it talks about assigning a state change workflow to a blueprint. After assigning a workflow to a blueprint via the BuildingMachine stub, I refresh my blueprint in vRA and do not have any custom properties added. What I ended up doing was manually adding the following as Custom Properties in my blueprint:

ExternalWFStubs.MachineProvisioned

ExternalWFStubs.MachineProvisioned.diskSize

ExternalWFStubs.MachineProvisioned has a value of the Workflow ID I am calling from vRO. When I run a request from my blueprint now I do have an option to set the disk size, and the workflow does execute correctly. This does not seem like the best way to do this, however. Is there something that I am missing in the initial configuration?

Creating a VM on Esxi Using Java

Hi To All

I don't want to be weird , but this question depends on my career life and everything ,and also i don't know how to beg to solve this for me

please i am in need

the question it's this

Make a VM on Esxi using java code and perhaps with eclipse (i mean not gui program just the code)

first of all check it and see we have a connection or not perhaps it would be like this

VRAC 7.0 installation fails at Verify that all services are started..

I am running through an issue while doing a brand new installation of VRAC 7.0. The same error below from https://vracFQDN/vcac/services/api/status is listed on the catalina.out log. Any help would be appreciated.

I want to created a Custom Widget that will be appearing at the EndUser dasboard portal . The Widget will have somekind of info which is done via a workflow or somekind of code.

Some Questions regarding NSX and vRA

Hello,

we are currently evaluation VMware NSX and vRA.

Regarding this, i have some questions regarding NSX and vRA.

 

Our situation:

We are a service provider. The customer ESXi hosts are in dedicated Cluster (one cluster per Customer) but in one vCenter (customer does not have access to vCenter, PaaS).

We installed vRA, created an tenant for each customer. Everything fine. Every customer can only create stuff in their Cluster.

Then we added NSX and created some securty groups. And here is my first questions:

Every customer see ALL! security groups of all customers in the Blueprint Desginer. As we only have one vCenter we also have only one NSX Manager.

How can we seperate the customer security groups?

 

Second questions:

I can assign security groups via the blueprint designer. I also added a ressource action to run the NSX "Add VM to security group workflow".

But is there no way to show the currently assigned security groups in vRA?

vRA 7.2 - Change "Machine Resources" on Blueprints

Hello!

 

I am playing around with vRA 7.2 and have created a few simple Blueprints with one "Server CloneWorkflow from Template". The Blueprint works as expected an i have created a few VMs based on the Blueprints. I like to change some "Machine Resources" (maximum CPUs, Memory or Storage) in the Blueprints and the new Settings are working for new Requests but not for the already provisioned VMs. For Example: I set the "maximum CPUs" from 2 to 4 an can request a new VM with 4 CPUs. On provisioned VMs the max. CPUs Value is not updated to 4. Can anyone confirm this behavior?

vRA 7.2 Reclamation Error System Exception

Dear All,..

 

I have just implemented vRA 7.2, created new tenant in addition to the default one & created a simply linked-clone blueprint.

also, connected vRA to DC as endpoint, vROps & NSX.

 

however, I can't see the VMs in Reclamation tab as shown in the attached picture.

instead, Error  System exception occurs .

 

also, I noticed I don't have (Tenant Machines) Tab. instead (Deployments) Tab shows up in its place !!

 

can someone help me with the Error & explain why I see Deployments tab instead of Tenant Machines tab please ?

[VRA 6.2]Error System Exception on Reclamatin

Hello Guys,

 

I see the error "System Exception" when access Administration > Tenant Machines > Reclamation. It was created two VMs fot tests though VRA 6.2.2-2754020. After thar the VMs was deleted on the environment and the error is shown.

 

On Reclamation Rrequests I see the VMs with request state "APPROVED", but in Request I cannot see the ID fom this requests. In Metrics Provider Configuration I cannot do test connection with return the same error.

When Vms were removed by VRa, they were also removed from the vCenter.

Error when sync with AD

Good afternoon all,

 

We are receiving the error below, when we are trying to sync new users from AD:

 

Certificate for <vra> doesn't match common name of the certificate subject: xxxxxxx


Error from log:

javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Certificate for <vra> doesn't match common name of the certificate subject: xxxxxxxxxx

 

This certificate for <vra>  is installed where?

 

Becase we installed a new certificate in vRA Appliance, issued to our domain (example: thiagosilva.company).

 

But appear that in some place, when the tool is trying to connect on AD, it is using the old certificate (issued to "vra").

 

Could you please help me?

vRA7 - Identity Stores

How do I need to manage new users on Identity Stores with vRA7?

 

In vRA6, when I create a users in the Active Directory it became usable automatically in Automation, but with vRA7 I need to "resync" the Identity Store before I can use the new user. Is there any way to set the Active Directory to work as in vRA6?

 

If I look for the Identity Store using Orchestrator API (to try a forced sync), the Action "getIdentityStoresFromHost" gives me the following error:

Error in (Dynamic Script Module name : getIdentityStoresFromHost#0) Can not perform request to the SSO server. Please contact your System Administrator.

But the SSO server is no longer present in vRA7. How can I force an Active Direcytory sync?

The property binding breaks dependencies (vRA 7.2)

I've just recently started encountering this error. The long and short of it is I have a software component that needs to get the DNS Address of the Routed Network, and a couple of other addresses that are dynamically generated by a software component, and the designer is preventing me from saving the property.

 

I'm using a binding to pull the value from the On Demand Routed Network, but I'm getting "The property binding breaks dependencies." The binding I'm using in the below picture is Routed28Bit~dns~primary_dns. In theory, this should not cause any issue.

I've never encountered this issue before, and it just recently started happening after some weird blueprint corruption issues that I experienced. It is not clear what is causing the issue here, as I have no explicit dependencies beyond the implicit ones generated by vRA. Any ideas?

 

Edit: The following binding works: _resource~SrvGroup~ip_address. This happens across multiple tenants.

Mapping network profiles to bussiness group

Hello community, I'm having some issues with VRA 7.2 involving business groups and network profiles, my issue is the one below:

 

Let's say I have a blueprint with a network attached to network profile "A" which is connected to VLAN 100.

 

Also I several business groups and we want that each one of them to deploy their VMs in its separate VLAN, so I have also several network profiles, with the relevant reservations, mapped to VLANs 200, 201, etc.

 

What I want to achieve is that with one catalog item, when a user from business group A requests a VM, I want that VM to be deployed in the BG assigned V-LAN, so far I've tried using these custom properties in the Business Group definition:

 

VirtualMachine.Network0.Name --> Network1-vlan200

 

VirtualMachine.Network0.ProfileName --> cloudnetwork2-vlan200

 

I can see that in the vCenter the VM is assigned to the right portgroup, nevertheless Vra won't assign an IP and the request ends without error.

 

I checked this blog: http://open902.com/vra7-customize-hostname-vlan-and-ip-during-deployment/ and it helped me a little but it won't solve my problem, because in my scenario my consumers should not modify the network assigment of their VMs.

 

How do solve this issue? Maybe you can give me a hint about what do you do in your environments.

vRealize Generate CSV File Error

Using the vRealize 7.0.1 Bulk Imports to Generate CSV file, I get the error "An error occurred while creating export: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

 

I have tried various settings and discovered that if I disable the reservations associated to the business group selected in the Generate CSV File form I can get a CSV file to export, looking at the error I suspect I have an issue with the data in the IaaS SQL database.

 

I have looked through a number of logs on the IaaS server but cant see any errors related to this also the Compute Resource Data Collections are working without any issues.
