Windows 10 Template Fails; Windows Could not Finish Configuring the System
I have a windows 10 template, installed the Guest Agent and have a cert.pem. The guest agent service is running and all the logs look fine, comparing it to another working template and it looks similar.
When I request this Windows 10 template from vRA, the allocation succeeds but the provisioning was taking a while. I went to the vCenter and could see the new windows 10 machine. When opening the console I notices an 'Install Windows' box, with "Windows could not finish configuring the system. To attempt to resume configuration, restart the computer".
On vRA, when the machine eventually fails, it says Timeout Customizing Machine
Am I missing something, why would this be happening?

[vRA 7.5] - vROPS 7 placement
Yo team
We wil to work with vRA 7.5 & vROPS 7.0 for VM placement.
We have this :
With vROPS 7.0 it's possible to move VM between the ESXi cluster BUT in vRA One cluster = One compute resource = One reservation = VM assigned reservation.
If vROPS move the vm form "Reservation 01" to "Reservation 02", vRA will loose the VM bacause wrong reservation is assigned to her.
What is the best solution ? It's possible to dynamically update vRA reservation if vROPS move the vm to an other Cluster ?

vRA 7.5, approval policies for new VM cannot modify CPU & RAM anymore by approver
Hello,
I've just noticed that approbation for new VM doesn't allow the approver to modify the CPU and RAM settings anymore, even if it is enabled in the approval policy.
any clue? Am I missing something?

vRA 7.4 Custom Forms and Custom Properties
Hi all,
Maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way ....
I created the standard Custom Property from vRO Action getApplicableReservationPolicies (as described in the Custom Property Doc page 116....just the normal stuff that one uses since 7.0)
Now I thought I give the new CustomForms a go and I run into problems.
The Property is in the selction...thats fine...BUT it dosnt use the CustomProperty definition I created. If one drags the Field onto the camvas and then runs it...it stays empty and is a text field. So next I recreated the value by setting:
- Appearance | Display type: DropDown
- Values | Value options: External and then com.vmware.vra.reservations/getApplicableReservationPolicies
Running that end with an error:
Some data cannot be retrieved. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.;

Which tells me that the context that was previously used to transport meta data between vRA and vRO isnt used anymore....
ANYHOW...donst work for me.

vRA -> Infoblox IPAM - Error
Greatly appreciate this forum for the support and knowledge sharing! I have got another question around this vRA / vRO 7.3 Integration of Infoblox IPAM.
If I try with below properties, "Update" workflow fails with "Unable to update host record".

How to share Disks between two VMs in a vRealize Automation Blueprint
Hi,
I am trying to automate installation and configuration of Oracle RAC with ASM disks. I have created two node Oracle RAC cluster using 5 disks (3 *CRS, 1 * DATA and 1 * FRA). First, I added 5 disks (in addition to OS disk) to a node1 and configured under ASM. Then, I added those disks as an existing disk (by pointing to VMDK file) in node2. How to achieve this disk sharing in a Blueprint ?

Can I create and modifying Property Groups or Reservations in vRA through vRO?
I have access to vRA and vRO 7.3 and Im trying to find out if in through a vRO workflow I can take programmatically create Property Groups or Reservations for vRA.
For Example:
Normally If I want to create some kind of blueprint I would have create a set of property groups so that the machine can be provisioned into a specific environment; now I dont know what environments will be used or created in the future so i want to create a vRO workflow to create a XaaS form to fill out some simple information about the new environment and then create a set of properties and/or reservations just by running the workflow/XaaS form

vRA 7.5 fresh OVA deployment -> wizard does not appear
After a fresh OVA deployment and login to VAMI, the wizard does not appear. Having the issue with IE, Chrom and Firefox.
A fresh OVA deployment of the vRA 7.5 Appliance didnt solve the issue?
The file /etc/vcac/vami.ini doesnt even exit, but I'm not sure if in 7.5 this file still exists.
Any ideas?

Strange SQL error during SSO section of vRealize Automation Installation Wizard - minimal install
Hi guys,
Got a bizarre error here during the automation wizard for 7.0.1:
PreparedStatementCallback; SQL [INSTER INTO installation_wizard_params (node, page, role, instance, param, value, sequence) values (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?)]; ERROR: insert or update on table "installation_wizard_params" violates foreign key constraint "installation wizard params pk" Detail: Kye (node)=(cafe.node.128400245.15991) is not present in table "cluster_nodes".; nested exception is org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: ERROR: insert or update on table "installation_wizard_params" violates foreign key constraints "installation_wizard_params_pk" Detail: Key (node)=(cafe.node.128400245.15991) is not present in table "cluster_nodes".
The above error happens during the Single Sign-On section of the installation wizard. It read like a glitch to me, so I ran through a few different options to make sure I'm not just mis-matching passwords or not hitting the requirements:
I've tried a password that matches the root password for the box/appliance and ones that are nothing similar to anything in the environment. Nothing seems to be working.
Anyone have a workaround for this, or am I doomed to a manual install?

Mail for approver
Hi,
I have a xaas blueprint which has an approval policy which runs an event broker.
Is it possible to send a custom mail to the approver with a link to the detailed request which he needs to approve? (instead of the default mail of the VRA - example in the image)
I'm familiar with the workflow named "send notification...".
My question is just for the link.
What should I write in order to get the link for the request to approve?

Containers Management Issue
Not matter what permissions or entitlements I grant to a user/biz group, the group drop down under containers appears empty. The user is added to multiple business groups so there should be multiple groups listed. The user is added to all container roles. Any suggestions?

Working with Multi-Machine Blueprints....
Here i my use case: I am working on a multi-machine SQL Always On Cluster deployment.
What is causing me grief is the getting the names and machineId for all the VMs that were deployed as part of the process, as early in the process as possible. The number of nodes is dynamic and I am using "vSphere__vCenter__Machine_1" as the primary node that will create the shared disks ect.
I have a workflow that takes the vCAC:VirtualMachine and from that gets the vCACCAFE:CatalogResource and from the resource I am able to get all the VM's that were deployed. This was working great when I was testing it but the testing happened once the deployment was finished and complete. Once I inserted this into the build the CatalogResource returns null so I am going to assume that is not presented until the deployment has completely finished both deploy and software components so I am back to square one.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to be able to gather the names and IDs of all the machines deployed with a blueprint as early in the process as possible everything that needs to be done can be done before the software installation kicks in.
