clonemachine hanging on vcac 5.2 after vcenter 5.5 upgrade

I recently upgraded our vCenter server that vcac 5.2 talks to from 5.1 to 5.5. Now, when we provision a vm, it gets to "cloningmachine" and just sits there. When I look in vCenter the machine has not even been created.

I read that 5.2 was NOT compatible with 5.5 then I read later on it was. Is there something else I need to do to get these two working again?
