What methods have you used to make this reliably possible?
I can move Custom Resources (ASD) between business groups. I can manually move machines from one Business Group/Reservation/Blueprint leveraging "Change Machine Reservation". I am now trying to figure out a Resource Action (or Service Blueprint) method to perform this Business Group change on a Managed Machine.
This is the specific use case for your consideration:
We have an Environment Management team who would like to pre-stage several Linux servers in one Business Group and use them as automation targets which are then moved into a Requestor Business group post automation tasks. It takes us about 10 minutes to get a Linux server up and fully functional (Including Post Provisioning tasks like: AD integration, Access, CMDB updates, etc) Pre-staging the servers saves 10 minutes in their environment build. The EM team doesn't have a role that grants Infrastructure Administration. We have been building out custom resource actions to be requested via vRA and programmatically via REST API (soon Cloud Client) as an extensible set of methods to our infrastructure as a service offering.
Any new capabilities from PSO or others? Anything in CloudClient to enable this? Anything in vRO execution space against the vRA (Café and Iaas) plugin to allow this? Anything in REST API?
