Questions about provisioning to AWS

I'm starting out on configuring vCAC to drive AWS deployments. A few questions for the collective:

1. I have a custom VPC in AWS, but my data collection from the Endpoint in vCAC never seems to 'collect' it. When creating a reservation, I can only ever select the default VPC. Any suggestions?

2. If I deploy to my default VPC, I can get a machine up and running, no problems. Once it's up, I can use the "Connect using RDP" option and it works. The RDP connection it creates is to the public IP of the instance, which is fine, but the Details view of the VM in vCAC only shows me the private IP address details. Do I need to be using Elastic IP addresses for this to work?
